As the peak body representing older people’s interests in the aged care sector, OPAN is committed to strong leadership on reconciliation.
Today we publish our Statement of Intent, which sets out the vision for our Reflect RAP, which has been submitted to Reconciliation Australia for accreditation.
OPAN is an organisation which supports the human rights of older people.
In supporting those rights, OPAN recognises and respects the human rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
‘Listening to – and learning from – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders is an integral part of the reconciliation process,’ says OPAN Chairperson Ara Cresswell.
‘OPAN’s Statement of Intent outlines how we might support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples walking into a future that acknowledges the trauma of the past and the potential of the future.’
